·         Ensuring health equity is considered in policies developed both within and outside the health system is an issue of concern for the World Health Organisation. We are delighted to welcome Sarah Simpson to present an overview of work conducted by WHO in this area.

Belfast Healthy Cities is running a series of events 'Health and health equity in all local policies' which aims to build capacity and support sectors in embedding health and health equity as a core element of organisational policy and actions. 

The first strategic partnerships for health were formed around 20 years ago - intersectoral planning is recognised as an effective way of joining up agendas and resources and creating synergy.
