HIA: a tool to support action for local government on health inequalities
Start: 18 Oct 2011 - 09:45
End: 18 Oct 2011 - 13:15
The HIA Forum provides an opportunity for those with an interest in HIA to meet, share experiences, hear about new developments and consider how to progress HIA.
This session will present a case study example to demonstrate how local government can work to tackle health inequalities. Donegal County Council and the Health Service Executive will present an overview of a HIA undertaken on a community allotment/garden proposal. Evaluating the contribution of HIA to the policy-making environment will be the focus of a presentation by the Public Health Agency. This will consider how the HIA contributed to a social housing rebuild at Dove Gardens, Derry.
