INIsPHO Advisory Group
The Institute of Public Health in Ireland is a company limited by guarantee registered in Ireland. It is governed by its Memorandum and Articles of Association and complies with Company Law in Ireland.
Ireland and Northern Ireland’s Population Health Observatory (INIsPHO) is housed in the Institute of Public Health in Ireland, and its framework was accepted by the Institute’s Management Board in September 2005.
The INIsPHO Advisory Group is a sub-committee of the Institute’s Management Board that has been established to advise the management Board on the Observatory’s operation and development.
Terms of Reference
The main roles of the INIsPHO Advisory Group are to:
1. Provide strategic direction and guidance to the Observatory’s work;
2. Advise the Institute’s Management Board on how the Observatory should support:
- the Department of Health and Children and the Health Service Executive in the South;
- the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety and the Health and Social Services Authority in the North; and
- the Health Information and Quality Authority (in the South) and the corresponding agency in the North.
4. Advise the Institute’s Management Board on the financial and funding matters relating to the Observatory;
5. Advocate and build support for the Observatory;
6. Support the development of the health information and intelligence function across the island.
