HIA Forum 2011
The HIA Forum provides an opportunity for those with an interest in HIA to meet, share experiences, hear about new developments and consider how to progress HIA. Further information on HIA Forum in 2011 may be found below.

HIA: a tool to support policy development
This session will consider how HIA fits into the policy making agenda. The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety (DHSSPS) will co-host this event and provide an opportunity to hear about a recent HIA undertaken on a health policy. Case examples from Scotland and England will also be presented.

HIA: a tool to support action for local government on health inequalities
This session will present a case study example to demonstrate how local government can work to tackle health inequalities. Donegal County Council and the Health Service Executive will present an overview of a HIA undertaken on a community allotment/garden proposal. Evaluating the contribution of HIA to the policy-making environment will be the focus of a presentation by the Public Health Agency. This will consider how the HIA contributed to a social housing rebuild at Dove Gardens, Derry.
