The European Commission Director-General for 'Health and Consumers' (DG SANCO) recently consulted on how the European Union can contribute to reducing health inequalities both within and between members states.  Key stakeholders involved in European work with the European Commission in the areas of social policy and employment policy were consulted. DG SANCO will then develop a Commission Communication aiming to support the reduction of health inequalities in the EU. The consultation closed 15 April.
