Safefood Conference, Tackling Food Poverty, showcases IPH work

A recent Safefoood conference Tackling Food Poverty aimed to promote better understanding of the relationship between food and poverty on the island of Ireland.

The results of two safefood funded projects were launched:

  • Decent Food for All – Food Poverty and Obesity: a broader approach for a more balanced diet (Dr Kevin Balanda, Institute of Public Health in Ireland) and
  • Diet, Nutrient Intake and Attitudes among disadvantaged groups on the island of Ireland (Dr John Kearney & Dr Dan McCartney, Dublin Institute of Technology).
