HIA Forum – Dates for your diary

The Institute of Public Health in Ireland will host a series of HIA Forum events during October and November. These sessions are open to those interested in practising HIA across Ireland and sessions are free. Each session will disseminate positive examples of HIA practice and provide a forum to discuss themes and issues further. Details of forthcoming events are listed below:
 

HIA and mental wellbeing, 28 October, 12 – 4pm, Institute of Public Health in Ireland, Belfast office

This event will look at the importance of mental wellbeing in the HIA process. This session will consider how those equipped with HIA skills can further enhance the mental health and wellbeing of an identified proposal. The session will be of particular importance to those working in planning, local authorities, the community and voluntary sector and the health sector.

Prioritising health in policy and project appraisal, 11 November, 10.30am – 2pm, Jury’s Hotel, Western Road, Cork

This event will review the linkages between HIA and EIA and recent work with the EPA. HIA and healthier public policy will also be reviewed.
