The Summer Scientific Meeting 2009 of the Faculty of Public Health Medicine took place on 26-27 May 2009, in Dublin.

Teresa Lavin presented on the Determine project findings to date.  Determine is a three year project commenced in 2007 and part funded by the EU public health programme.  The project is a consortium of over 50 health bodies, governments and various other organizations from 27 European countries. It is aimed at the policy level, particularly policy in non-health areas, to examine the extent to which health and health equity is considered when policy is being formed.
